I did my PhD at UCLA, then spent years as a software engineer and research scientist at Yahoo. I’ve consulted on machine learning for startups, and spent the last decade working on my own projects.

For the past seven years I’ve taught graduate-level applied machine learning at UC Berkeley, and I’ve taught entrepreneurship at the University of San Francisco. These days I’m focused on applying AI to how we learn.
